Fresh homemade salsa .

FrFresh, simple, and refreshing

Prep time : 10 minutes

Fresh salsa has been a staple on my food preparation for years now. You can put it on almost anything and have it taste amazing. It also allows you to put meals together FAST when you are on the go.

Quality is the key ingredient in this recipe , and since there aren’t many ingredients to it try to source yours as fresh and organic as possible

Tomatoes: Roma or plum tomatoes are my favorites, but really any large tomato will do. The freshness of your tomatoes is a must in this recipe, so try to avoid some of those bland or watery tomatoes that fill stores during the wintertime.  And definitely avoid using canned tomatoes!

Onions: I have always always chosen to use red onion for this recipe, as they lack the sharp, astringent taste from white onions.

Cilantro: The more the merrier! I only buy cilantro for this recipe, I try to use it all in the salsa to prevent it from going bad.

Avocado oil : Olive oil can also be a good choice. The oil will really help to incorporate all flavors together.

Salt and pepper: Essential! These are the ingredients that too many people skip over with their salsa.

FAVORITE WAYS TO SERVE FRESH SALSA:

And of course, there are endless ways that you can serve this salsa recipe .  I think that you could arguably sprinkle it on just about anything, but some ideas are :

  • tacos

  • rice and beans

  • eggs

  • beans

  • salmon

  • Steak

That said, my favorite way to eat fresh salsa will forever be this right here.

Breakfast tacos for life!
